This increased number of charges creates a high electric field between the electrodes which further accelerates the electron-hole pair generation. The additional current that pass through the junction, lowers the break down voltage and protects the connected device from over voltage.
The device features an internal power dissipation to dissipate the energy during fault conditions. It also features an automated reset which re-energizes the device after the over-voltage is removed. SMC3K43CAHM3/9A combines the efficiency of Break Down Voltage with Reverse Leakage Current and ESD protection to provide the best level of protection possible.
