SMCJ1.5KE24CA-TP is a Transient Voltage Suppressor Diode (TVS) designed by Semiconductor Components Industries, LLC for use in numerous applications. TVS diodes are specialized diodes which are used to protect sensitive electronics from being damaged by unexpected over-voltage surges, electrostatic discharge (ESD), and other transient events. The SMCJ1.5KE24CA-TP is uniquely designed to provide a superior level of protection from such damaging events.The SMCJ1.5KE24CA-TP is designed with a reverse breakdown voltage of 24 Volts (Vrwm), and is packaged in a small 0402 surface-mount package. The package provides a stand-off voltage of 5.5 Volts, with a maximum peak pulse current of 1500 Amps (Ippm). The operating temperature range of this diode is -55 °C to 150 °C. This diode provides excellent performance with a low leakage current while ensuring quiet operation.SMCJ1.5KE24CA-TP is suitable for use in a wide variety of applications, including automotive, consumer electronics, computer, telecommunications, and industrial applications.In automotive applications, the SMCJ1.5KE24CA-TP is used for protection from high-voltage, high-energy transients such as engine start/stop transients and load dump protection. The ESD protection of this diode is especially well suited for the military, industrial, and automotive markets. In consumer electronics, the SMCJ1.5KE24CA-TP is used to protect sensitive components from over-voltage transients and ESD attacks. It is used in cell phones, tablets, and other portable electronics devices to protect them from ESD and high-voltage transients. In computer applications, this diode is used to protect sensitive components from disk drive transients, ESD attacks, and other high-voltage transients. In telecommunications, SMCJ1.5KE24CA-TP is used to protect sensitive components from over-voltage transients and ESD events.
