Transient Voltage Suppression (TVS) is a type of protection device that is designed to tolerate or clamp surges and spikes in the voltage across its terminals. SMCJ16CAHE3/9AT is a TVS diode specifically programmed for automotive applications. It is designed with a low reverse leakage current, low capacitance, low-power dissipation, and low clamping voltage.

SMCJ16CAHE3/9AT is an Automotive-grade TVS diode that is used for protecting vehicles from electrostatic discharge (ESD) or transients, even in extreme harsh environments. This component has an operational temperature range of -55°C to +150°C and a storage temperature of -55°C to +175°C. Its 15kV IEC test current and an 8/20µs surge can provide reliable over-voltage protection.
