Introduction: SN250QT is a high performance SiGe nonlinearity digital RF Transceiver IC which is specifically designed for wireless applications. It integrated four analog blocks enough for a full duplex operation, including a voltage-controlled oscillator, a mixer, three amplifiers, and an adjustable filter.
Application Field: SN250QT is a very robust RF Transceiver IC and has many applications, such as cellular communication, machine-to-machine (M2M) communication, Military, GPS, and other telecommunications. For example, it can be used in cellular base stations, remote data loggers, portable terminals, telemetry systems, microwave back-bone systems and wireless military systems. Additionally, this IC can also be used in high throughput data transmissions, such as HD video streaming or data intensive applications, and in wireless LANs, WiMAX, and Bluetooth standards.
Working Principle: SN250QT is designed around a highly integrated, single-ended, linear radio architecture. This architecture consists of four independently filtered segments: Tx, Rx, Intermediate Frequency (IF), and Baseband. Each segment is independently designed for optimum performance, and the architecture allows for flexible radio operation, including the ability to switch between Tx and Rx states (Full-Duplex).
The receive signal is converted to a digital IF using the high-linear mixer which is controlled by the Voltage-Controlled Oscillator (VCO). The IF is then amplified by the Low Noise Amplifier (LNA) and a Variable Gain Amplifier (VGA). Finally, the signal is filtered by a digital filter before it is sent to the Baseband stage for processing.
