The SN64BCT125AD is one of a family of general-purpose logic-buffers, drivers, receivers, and transceivers specifically designed to provide reliable and economical communications between processors and their peripheral devices. In addition to the TTL logic family, which is the standard logic family used in digital electronic systems, the SN64BCT125AD can also process systems that employ the higher speed, complementary emitter-coupled logic (ECL).

The SN64BCT125AD family of logic-buffers offers multiple I/O options including a choice of dual inverters, dual buffers, dual latches and transceiver buffers. Its features include an internal power-on reset, two voltage-level thresholds and system verification via on-chip timers. With a trio of external timing controls, individual circuits can be preset for operation at different speeds.

The SN64BCT125AD’s application field includes consumer electronics, industrial automation, navigational systems and communication networks. Its dual differential receivers are ideally suited for high-speed data transmission links, as each receiver can process up to 450 Mbps (plus/minus roughly 50 Mbps). The open-drain output transceiver is suitable for bus contests, fan-out and bus arbitration, and latching transceivers for low-power requirements.

The SN64BCT125AD features a combination of fast performance and low power consumption. It is designed to meet the requirements of today\'s high-speed digital logic design, with its ability to operate up to 5GHz while consuming less than 200 &muA at 2.5V.

The SN64BCT125AD takes advantage of proprietary logic topology, circuit design and local redundancy to boost signal integrity and reduce signal propagation delay. Both adjustable receivers and transceivers can be used to detect signal edges. The adjustable receiver detects two external voltage levels, while the adjustable transceivers detect four external voltage levels. These adjustable receivers and transceivers have the ability to switch the circuit between two levels when the signal level changes. This helps to reduce the overall system power consumption and to improve signal integrity.

The SN64BCT125AD offers an ideal solution for applications requiring fast logic-buffering and differential receiver/transceiver operations. It is an ideal choice for high-speed and low-power applications, offering a combination of high performance and low power consumption.
