The SN65C3223EPWR is a member of Texas Instruments\' family of robust CAN transceivers, designed for automotive applications. Developed for data communications and power line applications in vehicles, it is designed to meet the physical and electrical requirements of Controller Area Network (CAN) applications. The SN65C3223EPWR transceiver consists of a fully-integrated 3-channel bus driver, an integrated 1-channel bus receiver and a set of various pins for an enhanced EMC performance as well as a fail-safe operation capability. It has an adjustable output voltage, fast response time and a low power-saving operation mode. The transceiver can support an adjustable data rate from 10 to 1000 kbps. The bus driver consists of three separate channels which can be used independently to drive the CANH and CANL. The bus receiver detects and increases the signal on the CANH and CANL pins above a certain threshold voltage to generate an output signal. The receiver also tracks the voltage on the two lines, with an external resistor used to set the threshold. It features an adjustable input sensitivity, over-voltage and threshold-voltage protection, and enhanced EMC capabilities. For signalling, it integrates two LEDs and four open-collector output signals.
