SN65C3232PW is an industrial grade multipoint data communication integrated circuit manufactured by Texas Instruments. It is a paired, differential data transceiver designed for use in industrial applications, such as process control, network systems, factory automation and remote control systems. The SN65C3232PW provides the necessary hardware and software functions to interface between two or more computers or communication devices.

The SN65C3232PW is a half-duplex, multiple driver and receiver data transceiver with fail-safe features such as open-circuit, short-circuit and driver-side lockouts. The transceiver consists of differential drivers and receivers, a bandgap voltage regulator and control circuitry with open and short circuit state indicators. The transceiver is designed to operate from a single power supply of 3.3V to 5V and requires two common mode input voltages for balanced data transmission over the differential line.

The differential drivers and receivers are designed to interface with a two-wire or four-wire unbalanced or balanced line. The differential drivers are designed to operate as either independent or simultaneous transmitter-receiver pairs. The receivers detect a differential input voltage of 0.3V and provide an input-to-output delay of typically 25ns.

The SN65C3232PW features an onboard bandgap voltage regulator that provides an accurately regulated 3.3V power supply. The regulator drives the drivers and receivers, allowing them to operate at optimal levels. An auxiliary 3.3V power supply pin is used to reduce the supply current to the transceiver.
