Serializers and deserializers, also known as line drivers, are integrated circuits (ICs) used to convert digital signals into analog signals and vice versa. The SN65HVS882PWPG4 from Texas Instruments is a single—channel, low—voltage, differential line driver used to convert digital signals from a compensated signaling line into amplified, low—voltage, differential analog signals or vice versa. This integrated circuit is suitable for the application of controlling different types of motors and appliances using a serial data interface, for example, in automotive applications, audio and video applications, home appliances, and medical equipment.

The operating voltage of SN65HVS882PWPG4 can be incorporated with a wide range of selectable supply voltages. It is optimized to work in 3V to 5.5V range and can accept open collector and push-pull input signals. The differential line driver offers enable/disable pins, enabling the ability to enable and disable the output with minimal sleeping current consumption. It can be set up to accept the control logic signals up to 43.75MHz in the enable and disable logic. The SN65HVS882PWPG4 works by converting the digital signal into an analog signal and then amplifying the low-voltage analog signal. It includes power supply pins and gate driver pins, with the latter being connected to the control logic. The digital signal is then transferred to the digital logic interface via a differential input powering the properly compensated line driver cells. The digital logic\'s output is then multiplied and transformed into an amplified, low-voltage, differential analog signal. The amplified signal is then converted back into digital through a low-voltage differential signal receiver.
