Serializers and deserializers, also known as line drivers, are integrated circuits (ICs) used to convert digital signals into analog signals and vice versa. The SN65HVS882PWPG4 from Texas Instruments is a single—channel, low—voltage, differential line driver used to convert digital signals from a compensated signaling line into amplified, low—voltage, differential analog signals or vice versa. The SN65HVS882PWPG4 works by converting the digital signal into an analog signal and then amplifying the low-voltage analog signal. It includes power supply pins and gate driver pins, with the latter being connected to the control logic. The digital signal is then transferred to the digital logic interface via a differential input powering the properly compensated line driver cells. The digital logic\'s output is then multiplied and transformed into an amplified, low-voltage, differential analog signal. The amplified signal is then converted back into digital through a low-voltage differential signal receiver.
