The SN65LVEL11DGKR is a low voltage differential signal (LVDS) clock and data buffer that is designed for small form factor and low power signaling applications. It is ideal for data rates up to 622 Mbps and applications that require narrow bus widths, high data rates and low voltage differential signaling standards. This device is a single driver and buffer intended for connecting multiple clock and data signals between two or more printed circuit boards (PCBs).

Working Principle
The SN65LVEL11DGKR contains a differential driver and a differential receiver in a single package. The driver provides low output impedance and ensures high noise immunity and low crosstalk. The receiver is capable of providing a zero-delay clock output and is optimized for low-power applications. Both the driver and the receiver are designed to operate at a Common Mode Voltage (CMV) of 1.4V and a supply voltage of 1.8V and are compliant with LVDS standards. The transmission of the data and clock signals is enabled by differential clock and data pairs. The data lines carry LVDS-encoded clock and data signals, while the clock lines carry differential two-phase clock signals.
The receiver contains two sections, a differential receiver and a Schmitt-Trigger buffer. The Schmitt-Trigger in the receiver is used to eliminate ringing from the incoming signal. The receiver also has hysteresis, to improve noise margin and reduce the effect of skew when two clock sources are used. The SN65LVEL11DGKR supports single-ended clock steering and clock input levels of up to 3V. Output levels are LVDS compatible, with a maximum output voltage range of 150mV.
The SN65LVEL11DGKR supports Common Mode Voltage (CMV) shifting, which allows the device to interface with devices that do not operate at the same CMV. The CMV shifting capabilities are also beneficial when using a SN65LVEL11DGKR in a point-to-multi-point topology.
The SN65LVEL11DGKR has a low-to-medium clock skew (max 5ps) when two-phase differential clock signals are input. This clock skew allows the device to drive multiple clock signals in sync.
