The SN65LVP16EVM is an Evaluation and Demonstration Board and Kit that can be used to explore the capabilities and features of the SN65LVP16 programmable transconductance amplifier for applications such as wireless communication, VDSL, and high-speed line drivers. The SN65LVP16 Programmable Transconductance Amplifier is the main component of the SN65LVP16EVM. It is an integrated circuit (IC) that contains sixteen independent differential output transistors. The programmable transconductance amplifier has integrated flat gain and linearity circuitry, fast ramping of current between selected points, and a range of programmable resistances over which voltage can be varied for linear or non-linear profiles. The amplifier can be used to operate in either non-inverting mode or inverting mode, while also providing direct access to a single differential output or multiple outputs in parallel.
The Evaluation Board and Kit acan accommodate up to six SN65LVP16 Programmable Transconductance Amplifiers, allowing simultaneous testing and evaluation of up to sixteen differential output pairs with 24dB return loss. It also allows the user to measure power consumption over a wide range of conditions and control power output individually for each output pair. The Evaluation Board and Kit includes a USB interface, which allows the user to connect to a computer in order to connect to the SN65LVP16 Programmable Transconductance Amplifier and configure the amplifier parameters.
The Programmable Power Supply Board provides a programmable DC voltage for the SN65LVP16 Programmable Transconductance Amplifier. This board is used to control the amplifier\'s power output. The programmable power supply board is capable of providing a wide range of voltages over a range of 0 to 30V. It includes an on-board voltage regulator and linear regulator for precise voltage control.
The optional Output Buffer Board for the SN65LVP16EVM can be used to ensure a consistent output impedance in order to avoid signal distortion. The output buffer board provides dedicated current control to each output pair so that the output impedance is easily matched. In addition, the Output Buffer Board can also be used to filter out high frequency signals, providing additional signal integrity.
