The SN74ABT125 is a quad-level translator buffer designed to be used in both 3.3V and 5V systems. This device is a low-voltage version of the SN54ABT125. The SN74ABT125 is useful in converting TTL output levels to the low-voltage HSTL, SSTL and GTL levels. Additionally, this device extends the input voltage range of 3.3V devices and provides protection for 5V devices for input voltages of up to 7.0V.

The isolate function of the device protects a source from a load — the source can send huge currents into the buffer without regard for the load, and vice versa.
