The device has 8 data (D) input and 8 outputs (Q). When the device is used as a latch, the inputs are stored until a clock or clear pulse is provided. When a positive pulse is provided at the clock input pin, the data is stored on the positive edge and a new set of data is stored when a negative pulse is sent at the clock input pin. This device can be used in both synchronous and asynchronous mode.In synchronous mode, the SN74AHC373DWG4 will read data at the positive clock edge, and the outputs will follow the input data after the negative edge of the clock signal. In asynchronous mode, the SN74AHC373DWG4 will read inputs at the positive edge of the Clear/Reset signal and the outputs will follow the input data until another Clear/Reset signal is provided. The SN74AHC373DWG4 also has enable pins, enabling users to control the input and output pins’ logic levels by providing enable signals to the respective pins. Activating enable pins will cause the SN74AHC373DWG4 to ignore the clock and reset signals, and the output pins will remain in the present state. When the enable pins are deactivated, the clock and reset signals will be re-enabled and the outputs will follow the input data.
