The SN74AHCT139PWR is also ideal for selecting and routing signals for channels, columns and rows in memory application, and is especially useful for interfacing segments in multiple-nibble-wide memories.The SN74AHCT139PWR is an active high-voltage energized device: when power is applied, the output is active. Alternatively, the chip has an internal signal system designed in to its circuitry which can be enabled to determine the logic signal level at the outputs, which may be a "1" or "0". This feature eliminates the need for external control signals.At the heart of the device lies its design structure. Its internal circuit is based around the traditional 2-stage decoding structure, consisting of input gates, address buffers and decoding blocks. This structure is called a “2-stage address decoder” because it uses two separate stages of logic -- one to decode the signals, and the other to trigger an output based on the results of the decoding stage. This provides the necessary speed and accuracy required in processing multiple signals. The primary benefit of the SN74AHCT139PWR is that it allows for the integrated decoding and processing of signals. This allows for a much more simplified circuit design than would otherwise be possible.
