The SN74ALS518NSRG4 is a regular member of the Logic – Comparators family. It is an 8-bit high-speed CMOS data selector with latched outputs, designed to operate in most types of digital logic environments. The device has two data inputs, two strobe inputs, and two latched outputs. The data selection is accomplished by using two strobes to enable or disable each output in response to the data input. When devices are used in a latched state, the two inputs and two outputs are latched in the opposite condition of their adjacent output.
The SN74ALS518NSRG4 is used to compare one data bits to another and allow devices to be operated in either half-duplex or full-duplex configurations. As such, it is suitable for use in a variety of applications such as analog-to-digital conversion, transceiver interfaces, and universal asynchronous receivers/transmitters. It also offers a wide input/output voltage range, fast switching times and low-power consumption for reduced system noise and power dissipation.
The SN74ALS518NSRG4 has two data inputs, A0 and A1, that are used to enable or disable the data output. The two strobes, E1 and E2, enable and disable the outputs in the opposite logic states. When E1 is low, E2 enables the output, while when E2 is low, E1 enables the output. The outputs will remain in the disabled state until both E1 and E2 are simultaneously enabled.
