Working Principle
The SN74ALS688NSR comparator has two inputs, the inverting terminal (IN) and the non-inverting terminal (IN+). When the voltage of the IN terminal is higher than the voltage of the IN+ terminal, the output will be in the high (logic 1) state, and when the voltage of the IN terminal is lower than the voltage of the IN+ terminal, the output will be in the low (logic 0) state. Thus, when both inputs are the same, the output will remain in the high or low state until the voltage of either one changes. The SN74ALS688NSR is a low-power, low-noise, low-offset comparator. It provides immunity from electromagnetic radiation since it has a built-in low-noise amplifier with static protection. Additionally, its threshold voltages are designed to be compatible with both TTL and CMOS logic levels.
