The CE pin is the ‘Chip Enable’ pin and is used to set a delay between the read cycle and when the actual data is presented on the output pins.

The Write cycles are similarly divided into two stages, namely the ‘Pre-Write’ and ‘Data Write’ steps. During the ‘Pre-Write’ step, the OE and CE pins are set to low while the I(E), WE, and A(E) pins are set high. I(E) is the High-to-Low Enable Pin and A(E) is the Low-to-High Enable Pin. The \'WE\' is the Write Enable Pin which is kept in a High logic state. During the ‘Data Write’ step, the data that is to be written is presented on the inputs of the circuit along with the corresponding high/low enable signals. Once these signals are set, the Write Enable pin is set high to write the data onto the output pins.

The SN74BCT760N integrated circuit can be used for a wide variety of applications, such as buffering and line driving. It is also used for the generation of address and control signals in microprocessors and as an interface between two buses.
