The device is also suitable for use in applications operating at up to 18 V, with a maximum operating voltage of 20 V. It is available in two versions – one for applications where the signal is bi-directional and one for applications where the signal is uni-directional.The SN74CBT16212CDGVR features two low-sensitivity input ports, two output ports and two voltage-dependent control ports. It also includes three protection modes – the "pull-up” protection mode, the "pull-down” protection mode and the “push-pull” protection mode. When set in “pull-up” mode, the device will switch the signal line so that the input signal applied to the first input port is applied to the output port. When set in “pull-down” mode, the device will switch the signal line so that the input signal applied to the second input port is applied to the output port. When set in “push-pull” mode, the device will switch the signal line so that both of the input signals are applied to the output port.The SN74CBT16212CDGVR is ideal for applications requiring protection against noise and voltage spikes such as automotive and industrial control boards, telecommunications equipment and other applications where the voltage level of a signal line must be accurately maintained. The device can also be used in a variety of applications where a signal line can be isolated to protect any downstream components.
