The device has built-in ESD protection circuits that detect potential ESD failures and protect the part against damaging pin voltages up to 4KV when operated in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations. The ESD protection circuits are designed to sense an ESD failure and disconnect power to the pin until the failure is cleared.
