The SN74CBT3383CDBQR is a tristate high-bandwidth dual-supply bus transceiver circuit with 3-State outputs notable for its high performance in today\'s latest high-speed applications such as: memory buffers, system clock drivers, selection multiplexers, parallel ports, and local buses. The device features a differential line driver with selectable slew rate, a differential line receiver with adjustable hysteresis, an output enable control input, and adjustable control over rising and falling edge rates, making it suitable for use in many different applications.

Application Field:

The SN74CBT3383CDBQR is most commonly used to interface memory elements, as well as for parallel data-bus processing, such as RF-data transmission, video signals, and DMA control systems. It is well suited for many applications requiring stable, fast, and accurate data transmission between two or more circuits, such as those in data buses and communication links. The device is ideal for use in applications requiring high-speed data transfer, such as system clock drivers, selection multiplexers, and local bus in notebook computers.

Working Principle:

The device operates using tristate logic, meaning that the output of the transceiver is disabled when the Output Enable (OE) input is high, resulting in a high-impedance state on the outputs. This ensures a true high- impedance state for noise reduction on the output pins, and rejects any disturbances on the outputs during the high impedance state. As a result the device can be used in multipoint applications, where multiple bus transceivers are connected in parallel.

The differential line driver also features selectable slew rate for better performance and lower output current at higher speeds. The device is also equipped with adjustable control over rising and falling edge rates, allowing for better deterministic performance in applications such as bus expansion and communication systems. Furthermore, the differential line receiver has adjustable hysteresis which ensures that it is capable of sending and receiving data with the highest accuracy and reliability even in the presence of noise and interference.
