SN74F245DBR Application Field and Working PrincipleSN74F245DBR (hereinafter referred to as SN74F245) is a part of Texas Instruments\' family of mux and de-mux ICs (Integrated Circuits). SN74F245 is a 20 pin IC package which could be used for multiplexing and demultiplexing . SN74F245 is the low voltage variant of TTL IC and can operate at lower voltage than the regular TTL chips, allowing it to be used in applications with lower voltage and power levels.SN74F245 is analogous to 74F154, 74F153 and 74F153W devices. It is a non-inverting 8-bit transceiver-receiver multiplexer/demultiplexer. This device offers 1A IO capability at 25C & 250 mA IO at 85C. SN74F245 is available in 16-pin PDIP, TSSOP and SOIC packages and is not temperature rated.The core functionality of SN74F245 is to transfer or receive at data from two sets of data lines, called the ‘A’ lines and the ‘B’ lines. The ‘S’ input can be active high or low, depending on its configuration. When the ‘S’ input is active high, the data from ‘A’ port is enabled and transmitted to ‘B’ port whereas in the case when the ‘S’ input is active low the data from ‘B’ port is enabled and transmitted to ‘A’ port.In summary, SN74F245 is an 8-bit transceiver-receiver multiplexer/demultiplexer with 1A IO capability at 25C & 250 mA IO at 85C.
