SN74LV161APWR is a 4-bit asynchronous counter that enables synchronous operation through the internal Mark and Space timing signals. This device can be used as divide-by-2, divide-by-4, divide-by-8, divide-by-16 counters, dividers or dividers/multipliers. SN74LV161APWR has two enable pins: one is the asynchronous enable (E) input; the other is the synchronous enable (G) input. Using asynchronous inputs, SN74LV161APWR will increment or decrement its count on the negative edge of the clock signal, depending on the state of the enable pins. When the asynchronous enable (E) is active, the output of SN74LV161APWR will be incremented on each negative transition of the clock.
