Application Field
The SP3494CN-L is a high performance, single ended driver, receiver, and transceiver ideal for 1Gbps and Gigabit Ethernet applications. It supports the 10Base-T, 100Base-T, 1000Base-T, and 1000Base-X Ethernet standards, and is fully compliant with the IEEE1394.1, IEEE1394b, and IEEE1394c protocols. It is also suitable for numerous other applications such as fiber optic communication systems, embedded systems, digital cameras/recorders, telecommunication systems, and automotive systems.
Working Principle
The SP3494CN-L is an integrated single-ended driver, receiver, and transceiver that operates using differential signaling. It features an internal analog-to-digital converter (ADC), digital-to-analog converter (DAC), and a high-efficiency dielectric field-effect transistor (EFET) for low-power operation. The integrated EFET in the SP3494CN-L reduces power consumption and provides higher signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and better signal integrity than traditional ESD protection devices. The device operates on a single 3.3V supply and has a maximum data throughput of 1000MB/s. It supports half-duplex and full-duplex operation modes, and can be used in optical links and copper based network topologies.
The SP3494CN-L uses inductors and capacitors to achieve signal termination and signal conditioning, as well as an on-board EMI filter to reduce EMI noise. Additionally, the device includes a built-in Temperature Monitor (TMON) to provide real-time monitoring of the device\'s temperature.
