Working Principle

The SPC563M64L5COAR architecture is based on the Power Architecture® core, a scalable and highly configurable processor core. The core is compatible with the instruction set of the microcontroller's predecessors, the STe200V3 and STe200P3, making it easy to reuse existing code.

The processor core is augmented with various I/O peripherals, such as three serial communication controllers (SCCs), two CAN controllers, two analog-to-digital converters (ADCs), two timers, two general-purpose input/outputs (GPIOs), a watchdog timer (WDT), a digital power supply controller, two quadrature decoders, an interrupt controller, and a real-time clock (RTC).

In addition to the integrated I/O peripherals, the SPC563M64L5COAR also includes a system debugger, a power-on-reset (POR) circuit, and a self-test feature. The system debugger is used to debug and validate the microcontroller's firmware, while the POR circuit ensures the microcontroller is booted from the correct reset vector. The self-test feature verifies the microcontroller's memory and verify its integrity.
