SPOD320LT mechanical balancing machines are used for fast balance correction of rotors with a maximum rotation speed of 10 000 rpm and a maximum weight of up to 32 kg. This technology is used in various sectors, such as for rotating parts in motor drives, turbines, rotary drives for valves, and various pumps. This modern balancing technique has great advantages, including less vibration, longer service life, and reliable operation.

The SPOD320LT uses an advanced and highly efficient balancing method known as Self-Detecting Phase-Optimizing Digital (SPOD) balance. This digital technology provides excellent balance accuracy with a low imbalance magnitude, as low as 0.1 gm-mm. This technology also offers an automatic correction of the unbalance vector in real-time and operates independent of the rotor speed.

The SPOD method involves a three-step process. First, a force is applied to the rotor during the phase-shift step and the imbalance vector is detected. Then, the digitization of the imbalance vector is performed. In this second step, the position of the imbalance vector is determined and the corrections are calculated.

Finally, in the optimization step, the corrections are applied to the rotor. This ensures that the imbalance vector remains small, while the rotor speed remains unaffected. Additionally, the SPOD method also allows for automatic correction regardless of the variation in the rotor’s speed.

In order to determine the frequency of unbalance, the SPOD method also incorporates a phase-frequency response technique. This technique uses a signal processing system to determine the frequency of unbalance and then provides an optimal response by the correction of the imbalance vector. The advantage of this technique is that it eliminates the need for manual adjustment of the rotor in higher speed applications.

The SPOD320LT is a powerful tool for reducing vibration in high-speed rotating components. It is effective in reducing vibrations in a wide variety of components ranging from small electric motors to large industrial turbines.
