Diodes - Rectifiers - Single: SR009 B0G Application Field and Working Principle
A diode is a two-terminal electronic component which primarily conducts electric current in one direction and it also blocks current flow in the other direction. It is widely used in electronic circuits to control the flow of electricity. In particular, a rectifier is commonly used to convert alternating current (AC) to direct current (DC). Hence, single rectifier diodes are designed to allow only the majority of the AC signal to be transmitted, blocking the minority of the AC voltage spikes, in order to obtain an output DC voltage.
The SR009 B0G is an example of single rectifier diodes manufactured by a semiconductor company called Sensitron.
