The SR106-TP is a general purpose single rectifier diode, designed for use in all kinds of electronic equipment. This component, designed and manufactured by STMicroelectronics, is normally used in dc converters, transistor outputs, power supplies, rectification, switching and protection applications. Working Principle

A single rectifier is essentially an electronic component that allows current to flow in one direction but not the other, depending on the voltage polarity. The SR106-TP single rectifier diode consists of an n-type and p-type semiconductor material which are connected together, forming a junction. The n-type material has an excess of electrons while the p-type has an excess of holes. When the diode is reverse biased, the PN junction is not activated and current cannot pass through the diode. However, when forward biased, the diode is activated and current can pass through it.

Instruction on Installation

The SR106-TP single rectifier is installed into the electronic circuit using the provided leads. In order to ensure a proper connection, the leads are soldered onto the circuit board. It is important that the pins are not shorted in any way. When soldering, ensure that the temperature of the soldering iron does not exceed the maximum allowable temperature of 250°C.
