The SR1PBBU family of supervisors works by monitoring the input voltage, and applying voltage regulation if the input voltage exceeds the set limit. The SR1P supervisor, for example, features a comparator module which is powered by the input voltage, and compares it to the reference voltage. If the input voltage is above the reference, the comparator module outputs a signal to the gate driver and MOSFET, which then switches off the regulator and cuts the input voltage supply. The SR1PBBI and SR1PBBO buffers then take the incoming voltage and reduce the voltage output to a voltage level that is lower than the input voltage, in order to provide a safe voltage supply to the connected device. The SR1PBBI and SR1PBBO buffer can be configured to provide a variety of output voltages, from 1.2V to 5.5V, depending on the input voltage and load requirements. The SR1PBBU family of Supervisors is designed for robust performance and reliability. They feature a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C, giving them the capability of working in harsh environments.
