When the main power switch is switched on, the current will be rapidly limited in two steps. The first step is for the fast current limiting. When the current value is reached the limitation level, it will be switched to the second step. In this step the current will pass through the grid resistor at constant voltage mode, in order to strictly limit the peak value of the inrush current. When the current returns to a normal level, then the ICL can transfer the load to the supply power.
The working principle of the ST40002B is further enhanced by its unique reset circuit construction. The reset circuit includes a recovery resistor and a small capacitor. The recovery resistor\'s resistance is adjustable, allowing precise control and adjustment of the time it takes to reset the ICL.
