  • Working Principle
    • The ST42ETG105 works by using a rotary iron shaft to rotate a coil of wire (the winding) around an iron core in order to create a magnetic field. The amount of generated force is determined by the amount of current that flows through the winding. When more current is applied to the winding, the generated force will increase, thus increasing the rotational torque of the potentiometer.
    • Furthermore, at the same time, a stationary contact point slides around the winding, varying the resistance of the device. Hence, by controlling the amount of power sent to the winding, users are able to precisely adjust the resistance of the device, and therefore affect the output of whatever the device is connected to.
