OverviewSTM32-COMSTICK is an evaluation board based on the STM32 32-bit microcontroller with a USB 2.0 compliant interface. At the heart of the circuit board is a 32-bit microcontroller that incorporates various connectivity features such as Zigbee, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and various analog and digital sensors. The board also contains a number of other peripheral components such as resistors, capacitors and on-chip memory.To begin with, the user will connect a DC power supply (5V or 3.3V) to the board. The power supply is then connected to the microcontroller which activates the microcontroller and all the various peripherals. The microcontroller’s program memory can then be loaded with either precompiled code or the user may write a program which contains instructions for the operation of the various peripherals. For example, the user may program the timers to generate clock rhythms, the DAC to generate analog signals, the GPIOs to read and write data, the UART to communicate with the connected MCU, the I²C to communicate with external devices and the PWM to control the brightness of a connected LED.The microcontroller further has a number of debugging features, such as a serial wire debug (SWD) interface and an on-board debugging host, which allow for the easy development and debugging of code. Finally, the board also features a USB interface which allows the connection of the board to a PC or laptop, enabling the user to upload and download code to/from the microcontroller’s program memory.In summary, the STM32-COMSTICK is a powerful and versatile evaluation board that can be used to develop and test applications in a wide range of fields.
