Working Principle

The STM32L0538-DISCO board is based on the Cortex-M0+ architecture, featuring up to 32-bit microcontrollers. It works by operating on a standard operating voltage of 3.3V, and offers up to 32-kilobyte random access memory (RAM) and 128-kilobyte flash, as well as up to 2-millisecond wake-up time from the low-power stop mode. The board also includes a variety of peripherals and interfaces, including an 8-channel ADC, 3-channel DAC, 2 UARTs, 3 SPI/I2C, up to 3 CAN interfaces, up to 2 2-wire, an LCD, a 12-bit pulse-width modulator (PWM), and other communications hardware support.

The STM32L0538-DISCO application board has an integrated ST-LINK/V2-1 Debugger/Programmer, which provides debugging and programming support for the embedded microcontroller, and enables full in-circuit programmability and debugging, as well as the ability to interface with third-party debuggers and toolchains. The STM32L0538-DISCO board also offers a wealth of expansion capabilities, including the ability to connect external memories, as well as other peripherals.
