The device features an internal clock and a real-time clock alarm, a programmable watchdog timer, two programmable power sequencers, a voltage regulator and an adjustable voltage supervisor.The main applications of the STM804SM6F can be found in the fields of home automation, industrial automation, telecommunications, automotive and healthcare. It can be used in applications such as mobile phones, digital cameras, mobile internet terminals, and portable gaming devices.The STM804SM6F provides power sequencing and monitoring for stable and reliable microprocessor and other digital logic supplies. It is capable of monitoring up to eight voltage channels, each with an adjustable threshold for detection of undervoltage, overvoltage and brown-out conditions. It also provides status information to the rest of the system on a CFG line, indicating whether or not the voltage levels remain within their set bounds.The STM804SM6F also features a configurable watchdog timer, programmable power sequencers, and an adjustable voltage supervisor. The watchdog timer is used to detect and reset the system in case of software malfunctions. The power sequencers can be configured to provide a precise timing of system power on, off, and sleep cycles, while the voltage supervisor provides continuous system supply supervision.The STM804SM6F is built on an advanced ultra-low-power CMOS process and is packaged in a small 12-pin SOIC package, consuming a very low 3.3 mA of current.
