Working Principle

The working principle of the STTH8L06D is based on the two principle semiconductor diode features of unidirectional conduction and switching. The diode contains two different layers of semiconductor materials, one of n-type and one of p-type. When a voltage greater than the reverse voltage rating of the diode is applied across the p-n junction of the diode, it conducts current from the p-side to the n-side as shown in the figure.
