STV8131

Introduction
The STV8131 is a linear voltage regulator .It provides an adjustable output voltage from 0.3V to 5V. This voltage regulator is specially designed for high current applications, such as ATX power supplies, LED driver and motor control circuits.It has many benefits, such as very low dropout voltage, low power consumption,high stability and adjustable voltage range. The STV8131 is a linear voltage regulator. It uses voltage reference circuit and self-driven topology to regulate output voltage. The voltage reference circuit is used to set the output voltage,while the self-driven topology is used to guarantee the output current. It works in three steps: The first step is to operate a bandgap reference circuit.The bandgap reference circuit will set the voltage reference based on the current and temperature. This voltage reference is then fed to a voltage error amplifier. In the second step, the error amplifier will compare the reference voltage to the feedback voltage and generate an error signal. Finally, the error signal is fed to an output stage to control the output current. The output current is regulated to get the desired output voltage.Conclusion
