The SY100EP196VTI delay line is a uniquely versatile chip that is useful for different applications.The SY100EP196VTI is a FET-Based programmable delay line (PDL) used to convert the electrical signals within a circuit into the electrical signals of the same type given but within different voltages and frequencies. The device provides a programmable delay of up to 50nsec depending upon the requirements. Generally, it can be used in real time systems and can be used as a buffer, level converter or clock generator. The SY100EP196VTI provides a maximum delay of 51.2ns, with a resolution of 0.4ns, and a duty cycle of 45% to 55%.The basic SY100EP196VTI functionality is centered around its ability to store the data stored within an integrated FET (Flux Enhanced Transistor). This FET acts as a resistor in series with a capacitor, where the capacitor is connected to the gate of the FET, and the gate is in turn connected to the supply voltage. The FET creates an effective impedance by acting as a conductor. As the supply voltage is changing, the amount of current flowing through the FET is also changing correspondingly.
