The SY100HA643JY device is a CMOS integrated circuit designed for use as a clock buffer, driver and fanout device in various applications. It is designed to drive up to 14 connected loads with a single clock source and it also provides clock buffering and termination. The SY100HA643JY device comes in three different versions; the 0.35μm, 0.6μm and the 0.18μm processes which offer different levels of current drive, power consumption and performance.
The SY100HA643JY buffer is a low voltage, low power, high speed clock driver and fanout buffer with a wide voltage range operating from 2.5V to 5V. It is designed for applications where a single clock input must be distributed to multiple outputs and also to drive long lines and clock fanout. It has a low output skew and very low static power consumption of 1.8mW. The device can be powered from either a +3.3V or +5V supply or from a +3V supply, depending on the version selected.
The device consists of a clock buffer, an output enable (OE) circuit, and a dielectric isolation buffer array. The clock buffer provides low clock jitter, noise immunity and propagation delay variations. The output enable drives up to 14 outputs with adjustable rise/fall times for up to six outputs, allowing for very fast rise/fall times to meet stringent timing specifications. The dielectric isolation buffer array provides low skew and power consumption and supports a wide range of frequency scaling from 0MHz to 250MHz.
The SY100HA643JY has three main modes of operation. The first mode is the NOE (No Output Enable) mode in which all the outputs are connected to the clock input. The second is the ATI (All Tristate Inactive) mode in which all outputs are disabled. The third mode is the ENA (Enabled) mode in which all outputs are driven to the logic levels defined by the clock input. The device can be used to transfer data between two clock domains via the ENA mode and can also be used as a clock-gating device as the OE can be used to control the clock output.
The SY100HA643JY can be used in a wide range of applications including clock distribution, system clocking, synchronous data transfers, PLLs, DLLs, serial links, PCI Express, and DDR interfaces. It is also ideal for use in designs where the clock has to be distributed with very low skew and with minimal power consumption.
The device offers superior performance and low system power consumption, making it well suited for clock distribution and synchronization applications. It is also cost effective, making it suitable for high volume, high speed data applications with tight timing requirements.
