The SY100S811ZH is a high speed clock repeater/buffer device designed for use in a variety of applications. It has a 3.2V to 3.6V supply voltage range and a low-voltage differential signal (LVDs) input that operates from 2.5V to 3.3V and can accept clock frequencies of up to 800 MHz. It is capable of delivering eight selectable clock output frequencies with low noise and excellent jitter performance. The SY100S811ZH incorporates both a System-on-Chip (SoC) and a synchronous, simple, phase-locked loop (PLL) clock generation architecture. It is suitable for a wide range of low-noise, high-bandwidth applications in the consumer, industrial, and automotive space.
The SY100S811ZH clock repeater/buffer operates on two inputs: an LVTTL input, and a master clock input. The LVTTL input, also known as a reference clock, is used as the clock source for the initial synchronization. The master clock input is used to reset the internal clock generator, establish the oscillator frequency, and set the internal PLL loop frequency. The master clock input can accept frequencies from 0.5 MHz to 800 MHz. The output clock is generated by the PLL and is mirrored to each of the eight outputs.
The SY100S811ZH clock repeater/buffer offers excellent clock performance that exceeds the requirements of low-noise, high-bandwidth applications. The jitter performance is excellent, with a 9ps tp-jitter rating. The device is also very stable, with a cycle-to-cycle jitter of 5ps that is maintained over a wide temperature range. It is also immune to deterministic jitter and has no phase or frequency shift between multiple stcorresponding outputs. As a result, all eight outputs maintain identical frequencies with minimal jitter.
The SY100S811ZH clock repeater/buffer also features an easy, yet comprehensive, programming interface that can be accomplished using the supplied software. The user can configure the device in several ways, namely setting the final frequency, the oscillator frequency, the phase delay, and the VCO current settings. The device also features a power-down and reset pin, allowing for a smooth transition when switching between working and standby modes.
