Logic - Counters, Dividers SY10EP33VKI is a divider application field. It provides a single global clock divider for two-phase waveforms that can be used for down counter applications. The divider operates as a divide-by-N counter with a reset and enable inputs. When reset is asserted, the divider output is set to a given value, which can be obtained through the logic structure of the given waveform. The reset function is synchronous with main clock and then the counter starts counting after reset.

The SY10EP33VKI working principle is determined by the logic state of the given waveform that can be divided by any number of counts. The 0xFF “reset” value of the divider can be written to the input of the divider. On every cycle, the divider value will increase by 1, provided that the enable is activated. After the given number of cycles, the counter will reach the “0xFF” value and reset back to “0x00”. The circuit uses an up/down counter method. The up/down flag is deasserted by a “reset” command. Every second clock cycle, a single bit is subtracted from the counter value thus reducing the count by two.

The SY10EP33VKI includes the associated combinatorial logic in addition to the actual divide-by-N counters to support different applications. In a descending order counting application, the reset function enables the user to set the counter value at a specific “by-one” value which then counts downwards. When the reset input is deasserted, the divider starts counting down until the “by-one” value is reached. The “by-one” count can be set to any desired number of clocks required. In the up/down count mode, the SY10EP33VKI circuit can issue logic ONE at the output until the reset value is reached, and then can issue logic ZERO at the output until a new reset command is issued.

SY10EP33VKI has three-state outputs. When the divider is counting down, the outputs are in the high-Z state. When the divider is reset, the counter outputs will be set to the “by-one” value. When the divider is counting up, the outputs will be reset to the “by-one” value.

The SY10EP33VKI application field includes the generation of scan vectors and data assembly at the output. It helps in performing serial/parallel conversion and digital hardware testing by generating debugging and verification symbol clocks. It is also used to generate memory and digital logic clocks, comparison clocks and four-phase clock schemes to uniform the operating frequency of digital systems. By connecting the divider clock to other circuit components, the divider can synchronize its operation with other integrated components.

The SY10EP33VKI application is used in a wide range of applications, such as system clock divisions in mobile networks and digital transmission systems.
