The T4820201 Process Temperature Controller is one of many in an extensive range of temperature control instruments designed to efficiently monitor and maintain stable process temperatures with high accuracy and precision. With excellent ATEX certification, it is also compatible with a large variety of applications where hazardous and potentially explosive environmental conditions exist.

The T4820201 is a single loop, proportional integral derivative (PID) process temperature controller with a wide temperature range of -58°F to +400°F (-50°C to +200°C). It has a universal input for a variety of thermocouples, RTD’s and resistance elements, and provides HDMI and USB ports for convenient connection to a computer or other external devices. It also features an easy-to-read liquid crystal display (LCD) with intuitive programming menus, from which a user can control the coefficient equations and choose the desired operating parameters.

The T4820201’s PID control algorithm computes the proportional component of a process variance, multiplied by a suitable coefficient determined by the user. The algorithm then calculates the integral component of the variance using a time constant based on the response time of the process. Finally, the derivative component is calculated based on the change rate of the process. This combined proportional-integral-derivative (PID) control technique generally provides quick and highly accurate temperature control.

The T4820201 Process Temperature Controller is equally suitable for a wide range of industrial and commercial applications including HVAC&R, food and beverage industries, environmental control, furniture manufacturing, automotive components and electronic products. It is also suitable for applications requiring varying power levels, such as metal and electronics furnaces, welding and soldering control, chemical production, surface treatment, laboratory research, solar heating control, hydropower field and energy conservation.

The T4820201 Process Temperature Controller has several working modes to meet varying needs. It has an auto-tune function that makes it easy to adjust PID parameters with the minimum of effort. It also has adjustable set-point ramp/soak capabilities and processes that can be set for each stage. This controller includes an overshoot protection function that will restrict output current when set temperature overshoot is detected, avoiding the risk of redundant energy consumption and high-temperature damages.
