T496X337M004AS is a type of tantalum capacitors, famous for its high volumetric efficiency, high reliability and long life. Tantalum capacitors are solid-state combination of a conductive tantalum metal and an insulating ceramic dielectric. They are constructed with a metal outer casing, a tantalum anode body, a conductive layer, and a ceramic cathode body. The tantalum conductor that forms the anode is created by depositing a thin layer of tantalum pentoxide on a tantalum surface and then etching the tantalite crystal to form the anode body. The capacitor is then electroplated with a conductive metal oxide layer and then fired in an oven to harden the tantalum pentoxide layer and the metal oxide layer.The T496X337M004AS capacitors are mainly used for high-frequency, high-power, and high-voltage applications. The aluminum oxide dielectric provides superior performance and high-temperature stability. The capacitance is set by the distance between the two electrodes, and the breakdown voltage is set by the thickness and volume of the ceramic between the two conductors.
