Tantalum - Polymer Capacitors are commonly used as components for electricity storage and filtering in many electrical and electronic applications. T530X108M2R5ASE006 is a combination of both capacitance and electrolyte elements. The capacitance element consists of two metal plates which are separated by a thin layer of tantalum pentoxide. The electrolyte also contains a combination of compounds, usually an alkaline solution such as potassium hydroxide or sodium hydroxide, plus a layer of polymer film.

The capacitor stores energy by means of an electric field that is developed between the two metal plates, when the capacitor is connected to a power source. The two plates are connected to the two terminals of the power source by the electrolyte. Electrical energy from the power source is stored in the capacitor. As the charge accumulates in the capacitor an electrostatic field is developed between the plates. This electrostatic field is responsible for the storage of electrical energy in the capacitor.

When the capacitor is connected to a circuit, the electrical energy stored in the capacitor is discharged in the form of current. As current passes through the electrolyte, it interacts with the two metal plates and the layer of polymer film. This interaction reduces the amount of charge stored in the capacitor and thus reduces the electrostatic field between the plates. This allows electrical energy to be released from the capacitor. The current generated by this process is the same as the current that flows through the circuit.

In order to improve the performance of the capacitor, the material used to build it must have excellent properties such as high temperature and voltage resistance, low ESR, and good power handling capabilities. Additionally, the material should be non-toxic, non-flammable, and non-toxic when used in contact with sensitive electronic components. Therefore, the material chosen for the Tantalum - Polymer capacitors is usually an organic polymer film, usually a polyimide or a polyethylene terephthalate film.
