The TD1225 works on the principle of PhotoMOS technology. This technology uses an optically isolated photovoltaic cell to switch the relay from “on” to “off” state. When power is applied to the control terminals the light-emitting diode (LED) within the unit is energized which causes the photovoltaic cell to conduct current through the internal MOSFET (metal-oxide-semiconductor transistor). This causes the MOSFET to switch on and the relay to assume the active state. Conversely, when the control voltage is removed the LED is de-energized and the MOSFET is switched off, thus switching the relay off.Protection Features:
The TD1225 has several protection mechanisms designed to ensure safe and reliable operation. One such mechanism is over-current protection (OCP) which is designed to protect against damage from the overcurrent conditions. The OCP circuitry will trip and disconnect the relay output after a certain maximum current rating is exceeded.
