TE0887-02 application field and working principle
The TE0887-02 is an embedded Complex Logic Evaluation Board based on Xilinx Spartan-3A FPGAs and CoolRunner-II CPLDs to implement function logics. With a rich customizable peripheral set and simulation features, it is an ideal small-scale development platform with an overall architecture described as follows.

Application Area
The TE0887-02 is a high-performance embedded system for evaluating and developing logic functions. The functionality of the TE0887-02 is ideal for applications in automation, instrumentation, multimedia, industrial control, automotive systems, consumer electronics, and other complex systems. Working Principle
The TE0887-02 has a multi-layer board with 1.6mm of PCB thickness. A FPGA and a CPLD is programmed via the 20MHz JTAG programmer. The FPGA is used to design high-level control functions, and the CPLD makes hardware simulations realizable. Two layers are used for the FPGA for configuring different design applications. It brings more flexibility for the design of complex control functions.
The other layer is dedicated to the CPLD, which is used to define the logic function depending on the application. Eight logic devices can be programmed by the CPLD to enable the design of low-level sequence functions. Programming steps include setting the pin-package as required and the subsequent setting of the internal architecture of each device.
The TE0887-02 is a high-performance embedded system with a rich mix of hardware and software elements to develop complex electronic systems.
