The generic segmentation is the default mode which segments the Ethernet interface into two virtual networks. The server-based segmentation allows for the configuration of the various Ethernet nodes into subnets and supports dynamic routing and broadcast control, with static and dynamic source and destination IP address mapping.

At the physical layer, the device offers several features such as integrated single-channel PoE (Power over Ethernet), up to 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet connection, and support for IEEE 1588v2 protocols. The PoE feature allows long distance power delivery and efficiency over Ethernet cables, while the 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet connection enables excellent system scalability and fast communication.
