The TFDU4101-TT3 IrDA Transceiver Module is an FM transceiver with built-in IrData Service Protocol (ISP) for infrared (Ir) communication that complies with infrared data communication protocol (IrDA) specifications.

Applications Field:

The application field of TFDU4101-TT3 includes high speed infrared communication, such as, data transferring, short distance wireless connection, and industrial control. The module can be used for detecting and receiving infrared pulse signals, for example, temperature and humidity transmitting. For instance, in the fields of industrial automation, industrial process control, and health and medical monitoring, the window of working temperature is wide and the power consumption is low. Furthermore, TFDU4101-TT3 can be used in small household applications such as air-conditioner, TV-sets, and remote control.

Working Principle:

TFDU4101-TT3 working principle is straightforward. It sends and receives daily data utilizing on-off keying (OOK) and/or frequency-shift keying (FSK) modulation techniques that are available to use in OEM applications. The TT3 module has built-in functions such as low power consumption, low standby current, and wide temperature range (from -40 to +85 degree Celsius). The module supports the incremental pulse interruption time (PIIT) which is necessary for proper infrared data communication, and it also supports error detection and correction.

The system is designed to ensure the best performance by avoiding unnecessary power consumption and including a gain control module to adjust the output signal level. The gain can be continuously adjusted from low to high to ensure that the receiver sensitivity meets the desired data rate and resolution. Additionally, the TFDU4101-TT3 uses a low data rate detection mechanism to reduce power consumption when sending and receiving short data bursts. Therefore, the power consumption is low, the response time is fast, and the system reliability is high.
