TC63LVD104C-B (“LVD104C”) is a 5V level serializer and differential deserializer designed for industrial control, medical imaging and other suitable applications operating in high-speed, high-frequency conditions. It is an IC composed of two ICs, a Serializer and a Deserializer, for high-speed serialized data transmission and reception. On the other hand, it is also an Interface IC which relieves design engineers from the issues related to the need of transmitting signals over long distances by turning a parallel bus into one-wire LVDS signals.
The Serializer is a 5V interface IC with a transmit input and a differential transmit output on both ends, while the Deserializer likewise has a receive input and a differential receive output. The Serializer IC converts a 16-bit parallel bus into a serial LVDS data stream, while the Deserializer IC, as its name implies, reverses this process and converts a serialized LVDS data stream into a 16-bit parallel bus. The two ICs are designed for use in both single-ended and differential data transmission applications, providing pass-throughs for all the necessary voltage levels.
The primary benefit of this Interface IC is its significant improvement in signal quality, as the LVDS data is much less sensitive to signal degradation due to electromagnetic interference. Its low power consumption also allows it to run cooler and thus last longer than traditional interface ICs. Furthermore, the Serializer and Deserializer also have built-in error checking and correction capabilities, allowing it to better handle data transmission errors.
The LVD104C can be used in a number of applications, such as wide aspect ratio display panels and DVD players, as well as advanced medical imaging equipment, because of its high timing precision, wide data bus range, large data throughput and low power consumption.
