The THS1009EVM, or Texas Instruments THS1009 Evaluation Module, is part of a multi-channel analog-to-digital converter (ADC) family. In comparison to the THS1009 family, the Evaluation Module is used to evaluate the performance of the THS1009 ADC, its analog-to-digital converter, and its output coupling technology. It is an ideal package for a wide variety of applications related to automation, medical, industrial, and defense systems.

The THS1009EVM is equipped with 8 analog input channels and a single digital output channel, allowing for multiple analog signals to be digitized at once. With onboard hardware, software and connections, users can immediately start evaluating their systems. The Evaluation Module is designed to evaluate the features and performance of the THS1009 ADC family. The EVM board also includes an on-board temperature sensor, allowing for real-time temperature compensation.

The THS1009EVM board utilizes a differential input structure, a low jitter crystal oscillator, and provides a programmable sample rate of up to 100 kHz. The gain is programmable, and the14-bit output can be scaled down to 10-bits using a simple digital scaler. The board also supports an SPI interface for digital control and configuration.

The Evaluation Module features a comprehensive suite of software and hardware tools, including a control & measurement GUI, a graphical waveform viewer, interactive waveform generation & visualization, and example GUI designs. The module also includes board design files including mechanical and layout files for VHDL, Allegro Design Workbench and Mentor Graphics Ultiboard.
