The THS3120EVM is an evaluation module for Texas Instruments THS3120. THS3120 is a single 13GHz, gaAs multiplier. With the Help of other circuits and dual on-chip gain stages, it can achieve an maximum output swing that is high with low distortion, supply voltage of Operation, and low noise. The performance and reliability of the THS3120 are ideal for high-precision analog-to-digital conversion, active filtering, high-speed sampling, and other applications requiring low power with high-bandwidth.

The EVM is composed of two parts made up of top and bottom sections. The top section has a daughter board with the main THS3120 IC and other components while the bottom section houses REP AC24. The EVM setup allows for the use of both coaxial and surface-mount packages. The EVM includes 6 user accessible/programmable dip switches, 2 user accessible and programmable trim potentiometers, an output gain selection dip switch, a 6.8V external output voltage control, and an adjustable AC Couple.\'

The THS3120EVM allows for the evaluation of the THS3120 circuit and board performance in high frequency, low distortion applications. By applying analog inputs and measuring the outputs, performance parameters such as gain, bandwidth, return loss, isolation, power and distortion can be evaluated.
