The TL082CPWE4 is a low-power JFET-input operational amplifier. It has two, independent, high-gain frequency-compensated operational amplifiers which were designed to provide excellent performance in audio and low-level signal applications. These amplifiers feature high slew rates, low offsets and low input bias currents to suit a wide range of applications.
The TL082CPWE4 is suitable for use in a variety of linear applications such as level shifting, buffering signals and pulse shaping. These devices can also be used in power amplifiers, mixers, peak detectors and comparators. The TL082CPWE4 can be used in instrumentation applications, such as bridge circuits and strain gauge amplifiers, as well as in temperature-sensing applications, such as thermocouples and transistor temperature sensors.
The working principle of the TL082CPWE4 is based on the use of a complementary pair of N-channel and P-channel JFETs, in an integrated circuit package. The control voltage applied to the gate of the JFET varies the width of the channel between the gate and the source and thus varies the output current. The magnitude of the output current is determined by the voltage applied to the gate, the gate-source voltage, and the gate-source capacitance.
The TL082CPWE4 has a wide-frequency response, from DC to well above the operational amplifier’s unity gain frequency. The combination of these features allows operation at frequencies up to about 50MHz. A common mode rejection ratio of about 65dB can be achieved by using the device with a resistive voltage divider on the input and a capacitive feedback network on the output.
The TL082CPWE4 has a very low supply current of 1.5mA, making it suitable for use in portable and power sensitive applications. The low input offset voltage and low bias current, as well as the high open-loop gain, make this device ideal for use in low-level signal conditioning applications, such as precision amplifiers, voltage references and sample-and-hold circuits.
