The TL16C452FNG4 is a Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter (UART), referred to interchangeably as a serial communication interface. UARTs are commonly used in embedded systems and are responsible for converting parallel data from the processor into serial data stream that works with peripheral uses such as modems, wireless radios, and infrared devices; and the reverse process.

The TL16C452FNG4 is a communication interface device with 4 independent UARTs that typically works with 8, 16, and 32-bit embedded microprocessors.
